This one is actually not true. The coordinates were logged, but you can still see the probe firing in a different direction every time you wake up!

i've played through re6 a couple times, and i honestly have a hard time remembering what happens. Its just not that memorable to me, despite some pretty memorable moments.

This is exactly how I feel about RE5. I couldn't tell you one single thing that happened in that game that didn't involve Wesker.

Sherry's baton is functionally just a fancy knife. Jake can literally flash kick people's heads off and Wesker-dodge bullets lol

To be a bit more specific, Jake has an actual melee moveset tied to a "fist" weapon and you absolutely missed out by not experiencing that at all.

On the bright side none of the other campaigns have such a big mechanical gap between their characters... but I'd still say you should play as each campaign's namesake since the story is absolutely constructed in such a way that the main character is almost always doing the more interesting thing.

You'd think just by virtue of how trendy open worlds have been and the sheer number of them that have been pumped out there would be more than a very small handful of actually good ones. (BotW is a great game but a bad open world, for the record. Perhaps not coincidentally most games with good open worlds are only good because their worlds are!)

I actually agree that RE6 is underrated. It's not at all representative of what I want Resident Evil to be, but if you can get over that and just look at it for what it is, it's a pretty damn fun action shooter!

I would probably begin a however-long-it-takes effort to yeet the planet into the sun or otherwise completely wipe it from existence/render it unlivable since that's the only quasi-realistic way I see of accomplishing this task. Even then, though, with no humans around to maintain the functioning of the internet or any of the facilities I'd need to even begin acquiring the knowledge necessary for this work, I don't imagine I'd get very far.

They're not going to break the game in the slightest but it's probably a good idea to steadily unlock stuff as you get comfortable with your moveset. (Honestly even starting from zero you gain orbs fast enough that this is probably still relevant depending on whether you've played other games of this type before)

Yep this is the entire problem with the new Paper Mario games. Just give us a reason to use your cool battle system you fools! The boss battles even use a completely different system!

This is it right here. Intelligent Systems is in this really weird spot where they apparently really don't want to make RPGs but they keep using the framework of an RPG anyway.

So what you end up with is a situation where battles have, at best, intrinsic personal satisfaction but absolutely no extrinsic reward with any meaning. So at some point even whatever personal enjoyment you're able to derive from the battles is going to butt up against the fact that doing them isn't do you any favors and is potentially even lowering your chance of beating an upcoming boss (by lowering your HP, consuming resources, etc)

It sucks cause these puzzle battles look kind of interesting, but if you cram them into the framework of a random RPG battle but then don't bring any of the incentives that come along with those normally, all you end up with is a poorly thought-out waste of time.

Hard/Classic with rewinds is pretty much the perfect Fire Emblem experience. All of the strategy and none of the lame bullshit.

As others have pointed out, on Hard/Casual you can just suicide units to brute force maps, thus removing any semblance of actual strategy.

No I was aware of that and have been plugging directly into the motherboard.

I would try plugging into the GPU if you haven't already, though I'm guessing you have.

What do you mean by right connector type to the CPU?

One of the most common mistakes I've seen in new builders is missing the 4 or 8-pin connector that gives power to the CPU. Depending on the motherboard/PSU combo you have, this all-important slot can be 4 or 8 pins and you can have a 4, 8 or partially covered 8-pin plug to go into it.

when i built my first computer i got this far, same thing. turns out I had to plug my monitor directly into the motherboard rather than the video card i bought since i didn't have the driver yet.

Assuming this isn't a posting issue, it could also be something along these lines. I've seen motherboards that completely ignore onboard video if you have a proper graphics card plugged in, so if stingers is inadvertently already plugging his monitor into the motherboard rather than the graphics card, it could also cause this problem.

You really are super close! Double check your CPU power and GPU plugs (make sure everything that needs to be plugged in is, and that you're using the right connector type for the CPU) and make sure your RAM sticks are slotted correctly. Failing that, can you maybe post enough detailed pics of your motherboard for us to see everything?

Ah, well I did! So that explains the difference. Yeah I can definitely imagine that if you don't hang out in the world whenever you're given the opportunity then the entire game is fucking breakneck. The actual plot points move along at an almost hilarious pace.

Everything before it is rushed too. I dunno how you didn't notice that. Just because it has open world filler doesn't mean it's not rushed.

Development wise? Oh hell yeah, obviously. As I said in my first post it's frankly a miracle the game even exists in as quasi-presentable of a state as it does. I mean that past chapter 9 the whole experience is rushed. Before then you have time to just leisurely exist in the open world with the occasional baffling plot intrusion, but after that it's not just the devs who are out of time - you are too, and the game starts rocketing through what little substance remains on the way to the ending.

It's mostly how everything after that point is so clearly rushed and just hurrying you along from whatever set piece they managed to cobble together to the next one. Especially bad/telling was the visit to Tenebrae, which was obviously intended to be this huge fucking deal, but because they had no time or money left you just stopped outside of view of any civilization and received the necessary plot dump from an old lady before turning around and leaving.

FFXV's problem is the middle, not the end. The game is pretty great from chapter 9 onward. Like foolmo said, MGSV only reaches the heights of the rest of the series one time.

I would actually argue that after chapter 9 is when the game completely derails! (Ironically exactly as it literally goes on rails, lol) Though the actual ending does manage to be pretty solid, all things considered.
